Deontological ethics holds that the morality of an action is based on whether that action itself is right or wrong under a series of rules and principles, rather than based on the consequences of the action. Consequentialism is the ethical position that the rightness or wrongness of an action is determined solely by its consequences.

"No-cost strikes" are strikes where unions keep services running, but do not charge people for using them. eg, railway unions keeping the trains running on schedule, but not collecting ticket prices to board. This method of striking is illegal in the UK.
